There’s no better time to cash in on Spring cleaning then now by participating in the popular Whiting-Robertsdale Garage Mahal!

Whether you are in search of great sale items or want to clear out items you no longer need, join the crowd and take advantage of this opportunity. Garage Mahal is a fan favorite throughout the Whiting-Robertsdale area and each year attracts more and more participants.

To participate as a seller, just complete the registration form and bring it in or send it to the Chamber of Commerce office by May 7 with $20. Here you will receive your official Garage Mahal sign to post by your home. Registration also gets you listed on the official map of sellers and promotes key items you wish to sell.

Maps will be available at the Chamber of Commerce office the week leading upto the event.

 Note that no food is to be sold by participants during the event.

Ahoy there, matey, Your favorite local pubs and restaurants are swabbing the decks and lifting anchor to set sail Saturday, April 20th, for the annual Party Like a Pirate Pub Crawl!

   Arghh you ready? Calling all pirates 21 and older, Don your best seafaring garb, and get your sea legs ready as you follow the map through Whiting-Robertsdale’s best watering holes from 7pm to 11pm to enjoy your favorite refreshments along this year’s walking pub crawl. Warning, if ye be not dressed in pirate garb, ye may have to walk the plank.

   Pub Crawl maps will be available at the Chamber of Commerce, 1417 - 119th Street, as well as at each “port” along the way. Follow the Party Like a Pirate Facebook page for additional information about this swashbuckling good time.

Calling all creative “Peep”-le !

It’s that time again to start brainstorming for some creative ideas for the annual peeps project contest. You know the drill ! Create a clever diorama using the beloving Easter marshmallows as feature characters. To recap last year’s first place winners include “in peepsana beach”(teen category), “sonic the peepshog”(kids category), and “Vladimir peepin goes home to visit his mother”(adult category). Let those sugar coated chicks and rabbits tell a compelling story. Something profound. Something humorous. Something relatable. The possibilities are endless. To enter the contest, bring your finished project to the Whiting-Robertsdale chamber of commerce by March 24th where they will on display for the passersby to admire. Don’t forget to title your project and give the Chamber your name, age, and the contact information. Voting for the peeps project will be Monday March 27 and will close on Saturday April 1st. A winner will be selected from three category’s : adults (18+), teens(13-17) and kids (12- under).
